BOWDON Church School pupils received a special-guest appearance from CBBC presenter, Katie Thistleton, in celebration of World Book Day.
The TV star, who runs a book club on the CBBC website was there to judge entries of the school’s ‘Get Caught Reading’ competition, which required pupils to take a photograph of themselves illustrating the theme of a book.
Katie presented book token prizes to the top three entries.
First prize was given to Toby Gilder who depicted ‘The Railway Children’. Laura Furness’ ‘Tiger Who Came to Tea’ entry came second, while Charlie McDowell’s ‘Billionaire Boy’ photograph was handed third place.
Literacy coordinator, Mrs Platts led the competition, and arranged for all of the entries to be displayed around the school.
The school would like to thank CBBC for arranging Katie Thistleton’s visit.
