A HALE pub is in the running to win a World Cup competition by having the pub specially recreated in Rio, just in time for the big football games.

The Railway, on Ashley Road, is one of a number of pubs nationwide in with a chance of winning the unique competition which gives locals the opportunity to fly out to Brazil and experience the same comforts of being back at home, but closer to the action.

The McCoy’s competition gives Brits the chance to watch World Cup games from the comfort of their own pub which is recreated in Rio, complete with all the comforts and interior decoration from the original.

Landlords and their customers from all over the UK are able to vote for their favourite local and the winning pub will be selected by a celebrity judging panel, including comedian Al Murray, ‘The Pub Landlord’, from the five pubs that receive the most votes.
