AN iconic Canadian coffee chain will open two stores in Sale and Altrincham.

Tim Hortons opened one restaurant in School Road, Sale yesterday and will open another in Cross Street Altrincham tomorrow, December 29 at 10am.

The string openings in Greater Manchester continue the nationwide rollout plan, which started with the successful launch of its first restaurant in Glasgow in June, with more locations across the country being revealed over the next couple of months.

The expansion is expected to bring more job opportunities to the Manchester area and those interested in applying should email careers@timhortons.co.uk.

Kevin Hydes, chief finance and commercial officer of the Tim Hortons franchise in the UK said: “We’re delighted to be opening five Tim Hortons restaurants in quick succession in Greater Manchester and the surrounding area. Every Restaurant we have opened so far has been met with off-the-chart excitement levels and we think people in Warrington, Bury, Altrincham and Sale are going to love our great tasting freshly brewed coffee and quality food, which is perfect for the festive season.”

"The buzz we’ve seen since announcing our openings in the Manchester area has been incredible, and we can’t wait to welcome people to our latest restaurants in Sale, Altrincham, and Bury over the Christmas period.”

Tim Hortons was founded by its namesake, a top professional ice hockey player, who wanted to create a space where everyone would feel at home.

The brand now estimate that nearly eight out of 10 cups of coffee sold across Canada are served at Tim Hortons.

Across the UK, the restaurant will offer an extensive and varied menu of delicious drinks, which include Tim Hortons signature freshly brewed coffee, espresso-based beverages, hot chocolate, French Vanilla and classic frozen Iced Capp drink, as well as baked goods, breakfast and lunch items made from quality ingredients. Guests can also look forward to Tim Hortons signature Timbits, bite-sized doughnuts which come in a variety of flavours.
