ST Vincent’s Catholic Primary School in Altrincham is celebrating after bagging the Gold School Games Mark - for the third consecutive year.

Headteacher Anita Harrop said: "This award shows we offer a broad range of Physical Education and the chance for children to take part in competitive competition across a range of sports. The award also shows the key links we have set up with local clubs in the community and our ability to enhance participation of children with different sports."

The award is assessed by bronze, silver and gold criteria. To achieve gold the school had to provide all students with two hours of timetabled physical education per week, within the curriculum, and have extra curriculum provision in addition to this. It also had to engage at least 50 per cent of pupils in extracurricular sporting activity every week ; have active links with at least five local community sports and leisure providers and ensure it entered teams into competitions.
