ED Bright of Stubborn Mule Brewery in Broadheath, will be talking about setting up his micro-brewery at an event at altspace, Altrincham’s co-working hub, on June 22 from 6.30 – 8.00pm.

Ed is an unlikely brewer as until August 2016 he was pursuing a successful career at the Bank of New York in Manchester.

However, he had always brewed his own beer from his shed at home in Timperley and he saw the development of this hobby into a business as a way to work flexibly, giving him more time with his young family.

It has been a steep learning curve for Ed. He has had to scale up from shed based production to a microbrewery in a matter of months. Chemistry, plumbing and marketing were all new territory for him. However, he has been very successful and his beers are now on sale not just in local bars but in various places across the country.

At the event Ed will also talk through the development and ingredients of his different ales and there will be an opportunity to sample them all.

This event is the first in a series of ‘Alty Talks’ presented by So Altrincham and hosted by altspace, Altrincham’s co-working hub on Stamford New Road in Altrincham WA14 1BN.

Tickets are £10 and can be purchased from Eventbrite here https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/from-banking-to-brewing-the-story-of-stubborn-mule-brewery-tickets-34521511771

The event is also part of Altrincham Unlimited’s Food and Drink Fortnight which takes place from June 17 to July 1.
