MUCH to the delight of the staff, television executives at Coronation Street chose the refurbished Best Western Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham, as a venue for filming the ‘nation’s favourite soap’.
The hotel was host to cast members including Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt) and screen mum Tina O’Brien (Sarah Platt), with Mikey North (Gary Windass) and Ellie Leach (Faye Windass).
The crew and actors filmed in the venue’s Townfields restaurant and bedroom accommodation for two days in September, with the episode airing on the December 19.
“We were thrilled that ITV Granada chose to use us for location filming,” said hotel general manager Paul Hindley
“It created quite a stir in the local community and a real talking point for guests and conference delegates. Nothing quite beats bumping into your favourite Corrie star while attending a training course at the Cresta Court.
“All the cast and crew were a pleasure to have with us and we have had great feedback following this week’s episode featuring the Hotel. We look forward to welcoming them back again in the future.”
