THE Altrincham Concert Orchestra recently performed an array of festive favourites at a Christmas fundraising concert in aid of Bowdon-based children’s cancer research charity, Friends of Rosie

Held at the Altrincham United Reformed Church, a host of movie and musical classics were played expertly by the orchestra, guided by their talented conductor, Miles Haslam.

Thanks to the great turn out on the day and everyone’s generosity, the concert raised an impressive £400, which will be used to fund vital children’s cancer research projects at Manchester scientific and medical institutions.

Friends of Rosie trustee, Jennie Atherton, who attended the event, said: "Our thanks go to all members of the orchestra, their conductor, and everyone who attended and showed support for Friends of Rosie. It was a wonderful concert that really left everyone filled with festive spirit."
