THE former bosses of Helena Thurm, who was tragically killed on the A56 this summer, will be welcoming her loved ones this weekend – and are naming a cocktail after the ‘funny, intelligent’ worker.

Helena, 25, of Altrincham, was hit by a car near to the Park Road junction of the A56 on Monday June 20.

She was taken to hospital after suffering serious head injuries but sadly died the next day.

For 18 months, Helena had worked at the Riddles bar, in Greenwood Street, Altrincham, and owners Del Lowe and Emma Rostaing have decided to hold an event in her honour this Sunday.

Del said: “Helena was bubbly, warm and friendly member of staff. She was always late and she was just really funny.

“She always made us laugh, which is why we are naming a cocktail after her called ‘funny girl’. She also did marketing work for us and was a very talented writer and intelligent girl.”

Del and Emma wanted to host the event as so many customers, who grew to love Helena, wanted to pay tribute to her and make a contribution to a charity close to Helena’s heart, Dogs Trust.

Helena loved animals and had three family Beagles, Zac, Chloe and Dolly, growing up.

Helena’s family and friends have been invited to the private event in her memory on November 20.

Riddles has developed a special menu for the event, with 100 per cent of profits from the menu going to Dogs Trust.

“We as a staff team are deeply saddened by Helena’s death and although she had recently left the team, everyone feels a great loss,” said Del.

“We all felt like we wanted to help in some way and this is how we are going to do it.”
