AN Altrincham community group is pulling out all the stops to make sure their debut event, a fundraiser for Children in Need, is a night to remember.

Altrincham News, which has gained a strong social media since launching in March, has teamed up with Tavern on the Green to host a Children in Need night on Friday November 18.

The event will be held at the Stamford New Road and Mancunian band The Vengalis will be headlining.

Entertainment will also be provided by karaoke DJ Jonny Fazzell.

Andy Kennerley, from Altrincham News, said: “There will also be a raffle, a slave auction and a date auction. You can bid for a date with one of the Altrincham News team and bid to have one of the team be your slave, for things like washing cars etc.

“Artist Rita Williams has also painted a Pudsey painting especially for us and we have an Altrincham News t-shirt signed by all of the team.”

Stella and Dot will be having a pop-up shop at the event, which is free entry, and all of the Altrincham News team will be in fancy-dress. Guests are invited to don fancy-dress too.

“It’s our first event for Children in Need and it is a cause close to our hearts,” said Sarah Louise Naylor, a member of the Altrincham News team.

“The feedback have been huge and it is turning into a much bigger event than we expected. It is a really big event for Altrincham and any support we can get would be excellent.”
