A LONE woman driver who fell victim to the 'creepy clown' craze has warned other motorists to be on the alert.

The woman was driving in Broadheath when she was targeted by a youth in a clown's mask, who jumped in front of her vehicle.

She continued driving and escaped unscathed from the ordeal, which happened at 6.15pm on Tuesday.

She told Messenger she was driving at a low speed because there are traffic calming humps on the road.

She went through a mini roundabout and then saw a group of five or six youths huddled on a corner.

A 'sixth sense' told her to lock her car doors as she approached the corner.

She said: "Then one of them jumped out into the road in front of my car - he had a clown mask on.

"He wanted me to stop but I just kept on driving.

"Later I thought I could have knocked him over, but there was no way I was stopping. If I'd stopped I don't know what they would have done."

She said she knew what was happening as she had heard of reports about the 'creepy clown' craze.

"I am glad I was aware of what was going on.

"But I won't drive through Broadheath again."

She advised other drivers: "Don't stop in that situation - and keep your doors locked at all times."

Police have warned they will take action against anyone who terrorises people with the 'creepy clown' craze.
