RIDDLES Bar in Altrincham is inviting its customers to a Vintage Masquerade Party to help it celebrate its second birthday.

The speakeasy-style cocktail bar opened on Greenwood Street in 2014, and has become a firm favourite in the Altrincham nightlife scene.

In 2015, the venue was shortlisted for "Bar of the Year" in the City Life Awards.

Riddles opened just before the regeneration of Altrincham market and has been part of the growing success of the surrounding market quarter.

Owner Del Lowe said: “We always believed that Altrincham would bounce back to its former glory and it’s been amazing to be part of its current growth and development.

"We truly have been blessed with the public support and hope to be still here as a local independent for many years to come”

The second anniversary coincides with Halloween, and so guests are asked to get into the spirit with a vintage 1920s dress code, and Halloween masks at the celebration party on October 29.

The guest with the best vintage style will win a handmade bottle of Riddles' famous Old Fashioned cocktail. The event will also feature live music, a traditional cut-throat barber, a bourbon-based birthday cake, and a vintage shoe-shiner.

"The first two years have been fantastic," said Emma Rostaing, owner of Riddles.

"Our Altrincham customers have really welcomed us to the town, and we're thrilled to be able to celebrate our second anniversary with everyone who has supported us."

Spaces are limited for the event, so guests are being asked to book in advance to avoid disappointment.
