IT took Altrincham by storm in its inaugural year and now the Fizz Festival is back.

Altrincham Town Hall will once again play host to the two-day festival, dedicated to all things bubbly, this November.

Last year, the event was a sell-out success, with around 400 people flocking to the Market Street venue.

This year’s festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, November 12 and 13, from 12noon to 3pm and 4pm to 7pm, with the People’s Choice Award concluding the event.

There will be more than 100 wines on offer and guests will have the opportunity to try, buy and learn.

There will be a raft of masterclasses, as well as music, food, special offers and exclusive discounts.

Suppliers will be on hand to offer expert advice, including Champagne Laurent-Perrier, Hush Heath, Champagne Thienot, and Con Gusto.

Guests will be also able to vote for their favourite fizz at the People’s Choice Awards.

Three awards are up for grabs; Best Champagne; Best Sparkling Wine – UK; and Best Sparkling Wine – Rest of World The awards will be presented at a closing ceremony on Sunday from 7.30pm to 9pm.

Cracking Wines owner and Fizz Festival organiser Janet Harrison said: “The festival has a thoroughly modern feel with no snobbery and a fun and informal atmosphere. “It really does attract those who want to know more about their favourite sparklers and what better way to do that and stock up for Christmas at the same time?”

Masterclass and exclusive awards ceremony tickets will be on sale soon along with details of other satellite events and special offers around Manchester and Cheshire during the time of the festival itself.

General tickets cost £25 and include a free tasting of each of the wines at the festival.
