CHRISTMAS is coming early to an Altrincham pub when it holds a charity fun day on Friday, August 19 - and it is appealing for a celebrity to attend it.
The Bricklayers Arms, in George Street, will be decorated as if for Christmas for the event, which takes place from 2pm, to raise funds for Francis House children's hospice.
Attractions include an auction, raffle, live bands, dancers and a buffet. The Mayor and the Town Crier will be calling in.
Although children are not allowed in the pub or the beer garden, part of the paved front street will accommodate the afternoon’s events.
But a well known guest who had been lined up to appear has had to cancel because of family reasons, and so the pub is appealing for a celebrity to come forward to help.
