THE skies may have opened but rain did not dampen spirits at this year’s Altrincham Festival.
The parade, which boasted 55 entries this year, snaked through the streets of Timperley and Altrincham on Saturday July 2 for the highlight of the town’s events calendar.
The Breaston Highlanders Band and the Alderley Scout Band merrily led the parade and the Timperley Village Festival Rosebuds – Mia Leke-Peckitt, Sophia Brocklehurst and Bethney Latham – were a ‘wonderful’ sight to behold, chauffeured in a vintage car.

New to this year’s line-up were the Welsh Axe Men, who gave wood carving displays throughout the day on the showground. Jannik Dance and Onyx Dance groups were on hand to provide entertainment to the masses.
The Smiley Land Train was a highlight for the younger festival goers
Despite three large storms in the afternoon, crowds still flocked to the festival, enjoying fun fair rides, giant inflatables, stalls and more.
This year's Music Stage was organised by Abi Richardson and her helpers, who provided 'fantastic' entertainment, and Trafford Sound's tunes got the crowd in the festive mood.

Festival organisers said they are looking forward to next year’s event and are hoping for better weather in 2017.
