BATMAN (Colin Broom) and Spiderman (Antony Vaughan) will pedal a tandem from Manchester to Blackpool to celebrate Colin’s wife Jacky being clear of cancer for 18 months.
Colin Broom, 57, from Hyde and Antony Vaughan (31) from Altrincham will do the 60 mile ride in aid of The Christie, along with six other cyclists who are all part of this year’s Team Jacks, named after Colin’s wife Jacky who was diagnosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer in early 2014.
Jacky was referred to The Christie and was accepted onto a clinical trial that may well have saved her life.
Other members of Team Jacks this year include Robert Vaughan, Michael Bruce, Dave O’Brien, Steve Welsby, Aaron Ashton and Ryan Knight.
Members of the team will also be riding in memory of two close friends who lost their battles with cancer during 2016, Michael J Collins and Ronnie Benjamin.
The iconic Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride on July 10 is The Christie's largest cycling event attended by over 6,000 cyclists each year.
