SUMMER is the festival season and organisers of this year's Altrincham Festival are looking for people to get involved.

They would like to hear from groups, businesses and any other organisations who would like to be a part of "the biggest free show in Trafford."

Volunteers are also needed to work at the festival show and parade between 8am and 3pm on July 2.

Chairman Tony Fishwick said: "The Altrincham Festival committee believe that this will be one of the best we have seen so please tell your friends and come and support your festival and enjoy it."

The Festival Grand Parade starts at 11pm on July 2 from St Margarets Road in Altrincham, and more than 45 entries have already been booked in for it.

The festival Rose Buds will be leading the parade and those marching will include the Breaston Highlanders Band, the Sale Scout Band and the Alderley Scout Band.

Tony continued: "We will also have a large display of vehicles both vintage and modern as well as steam rollers to give the parade a special treat for all the crowds who come out."

The parade will go to the showground in Timperley, where attractions include the 'Welsh Axemen', marching bands and dance displays by Jannik Dance and the Onyx Dance group.

There will be a fun train to offer rides around the showground. A selection of tot food and drinks will be available also a Licensed Bar for you to enjoy add Fantastic Ice Creams to make your day.

A large variety of stalls and Crafts are on the ground. There will be hot food and drinks and a licensed bar.

As usual John Collins funfair will be on the showground, a penalty shoot-out by Altrincham Football Club and Kersal Rugby Club will have a walking rugby display.
