FRIDAY the 13th is unlucky for some – but not for Wilmslow teen Lauren Lovelle.

The 19-year-old singer songwriter has chosen the date to launch her debut album ‘Reality’ and will be celebrating its release at the Concorde Conference Centre, in Altrincham.

Family, friends and VIPs will be heading to the Sunbank Lane venue on Friday night to hear Lauren performing her original tracks for the first time, with the backing of a ten-piece band.

The event marks the first of, what Lauren hopes, many milestones in her budding singing career.

Just one year ago, the former Gorsey Bank Primary pupil was working at Fizz clothes shop in Wilmslow, building her repertoire of self-penned songs and covers at weekend gigs in her hometown, when she was faced with a difficult decision.

Lauren received a call from a judge who had seen her perform in the Open Mic UK competition the previous year and thought she had potential to go far in the music industry.

After much deliberation, she decided to quit her job and dedicate herself to her music. After months in the studio, writing and recording, her album is finally complete – and she is looking forward to debuting her new material, which she describes as a ‘mix of soul, R&B and bass’.

“We have been planning the launch since January and I can’t wait for it now,” said Lauren. “It’s nerve-wrecking but I’m excited.”

The album launch is being held in partnership with the Teenage Cancer Trust, with 15 per cent of album sales being donated to the charity.

Lauren has previously raised funds for Teenage Cancer Trust, with performances at Runway on the Runway and Fashion for a Reason, singing the charity’s chosen song, Riptide.

“Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity that is close to my heart and has influenced my own work more than once,” added Lauren. “I am delighted to give back to the charity by donating proceeds from my album.”

Reality is available on iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play and Spotify.
