OFFICERS investigating the horror crash that claimed the life of a nine-year-old girl in Altrincham at the weekend are appealing for motorists with dash cam footage to come forward.

Shortly after 10.50am, Saturday May 7, police were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Manchester Road near to Stamford Road in Altrincham.

Officers arrived and found a black Toyota Auris had hit a brick wall by a block of flats.

Police discovered a man and two children in the vehicle.

A 45-year-old man and an 11-year-old girl were rushed to hospital but sadly a second girl, aged nine, was pronounced dead at the scene.

They are all believed to be from the same family.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing and police are appealing for witnesses, particularly motorists who might have captured the incident or the car involved before it collided with the flats on dash cams.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “We are still very early in the investigation into the collision on Manchester Road in Altrincham on May 8 in which a nine-year-old girl sadly died and an 11-year-old girl and 41-year-old man were seriously injured.
