DESPITE having had a brain tumour removed, Michaela Truesdale is determined that her 40th birthday party at Altrincham Football Club’s new function room, on May 28, will be a success.

She is running a Twitter campaign to persuade Gary Barlow of Take That to come along.

The 45-year-old musician and former X Factor judge has previously tweeted fans offering to sing at milestone birthday parties.

“Me and my friends must have sent 6000 tweets,” she said.

“I’ve been a fan since they first started in 1991.”

In 1992, Michaela attended a Take That show at Liberty’s in Sale.

Two years later, she met Stuart, the father of their children, Kairan, 12 and Keira, 7.who joins her at concerts.

In January, she met Gary Barlow backstage after the musical The Girls which he co-wrote, was shown at the Lowry.

Michaela said “He took a selfie of us. I was thrilled.”

Her favourite track is These Days although she’d like Gary to sing Rule the World at her party.

When Michaela, from Baguley, first experienced headaches and pains in her body, doctors couldn’t find the reason.

She, herself, put it down to the stress of swotting for her teacher training degree. Unfortunately, she won’t be able to work, now.

The tumour has led to Cushing’s Disease, causing an excess of cortisol in her pituitary gland.

“Since the operation last August, I’ve had lots of side effects. In an emergency I have to inject myself with hydro cortisone.”

Gary’s appearance would be the icing on her birthday cake.

“I know he already has one date in his diary. It would be a surprise for my 100 guests including 40 children, if it was mine.”
