AN ALTRINCHAM couple are gearing up to boost two charities by running 69 miles in just one day.
Jayne Storey and Richard Taylor, both 40, are tackling the Wall Ultramarathon on June 20.
This gruelling route is from Carlisle Castle to the Newcastle Millennium Bridge, running along Hadrian's Wall on a track that has both on and off-road sections.
The couple are no strangers to fundraising runs, having previously completed three marathons in three years.
Jayne, a sales and marketing co-ordinator, said: "This challenge is one of pure mental ability - the head will truly rule the heart as after my first marathon my podiatrist mentioned that I would be no Paula Radcliffe, as having one leg longer than the other gives me quite bad back pain."
The two charities to benefit from their efforts are Chorlton-based Congo Children Trust - which helps street children in the Democratic Republic of the Congo - and Jacob's Well, which provides employment and vocational training to vulnerable women in India's urban slum communities.
