HEARING services which will be provided in Trafford after next Spring's opening of the new £17 million Altrincham Hospital, have been announced.

The new look audiology service is set to include extended opening hours form 8am to 6pm, waiting times to be less than 20 days for all new hearing assessments, free state of the art digital hearing aids including open fit/life tube technology,

The service will also provide reassessment appointments for existing hearing aid patients and those that have not had a hearing test in the last three years, a specialist tinnitus clinic, complex hearing needs clinic and additional space for more adults and children to be treated.

Dr Greg Nassar, head of audiology services for Trafford Hospitals: “This exciting development means that we will be able to see patients of all ages more quickly and offer an extended service with the latest test equipment.

The service will gain an extra clinic/treatment room which means that more patients can be seen and treated and that both adults and children will wait less time for their appointments.

In the children’s audiology service, there will be a dedicated state of the art test booth which will be child-friendly. The paediatric team will also be extended which will provide increased services for child hearing assessments as well as for hearing aid provision and support.

Dr Nassar added: “It will be a significant benefit for patients who live in the Altrincham area.”
