THE HUB Community Centre is receiving the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the MBE for volunteer groups.
The Hub is a partnership between Altrincham Baptist Church and Trafford Council and works with other organisations.
With its slogan being “Your Community, Your Place”, local residents are encouraged to join the centre’s activities, receive professional care and support or become part of the volunteers’ team.
Andrew Smyth, the centre’s manager, said: “This award is a huge honour for us and is a fitting recognition of the hard work and many, many hours our volunteers put in to care for and serve the people of our community.
“We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated team of high quality volunteers from all walks of life.”
Mr Smyth thanked Councillor Patricia young for nominating the hub for the award.
He added he hoped it would enable the centre to grow.
