A GROUP that is aiming to ensure Urmston looks blooming lovely is bidding for a funding boost - and it wants the community to help it achieve it.
Urmston in Bloom has submitted a bid to the Aviva Community Fund for funding and in order for its bid to be considered it requires the backing of the public.
Voting opens on October 24 for four weeks, anyone can register on the Aviva community fund website at https://www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk/acfcms/get-involved and vote for the project named Urmston in Bloom Reference No. 17-148. The projects with the most votes will become finalists. Each person registering has 10 votes to use.
Urmston in Bloom (Urmston, Flixton and Davyhulme) in conjunction with Urmston Partnership is a volunteer-led and non-profit group which is looking at ways to improve the area for the benefit of the community, businesses and visitors.
The funding will be used to support projects throughout the M41 Area, including the provision of additional planters, cleaning, painting and refurbishment of street furniture, purchase of equipment, clearing overgrown neglected areas and replanting.
The group is working on this scheme in close co-operation with One Trafford.
