RESIDENTS have been giving their views on Trafford Council’s proposals to improve and revitalise Sale Town Centre.

Hundreds of residents and businesses turned out to have their say at a special consultation event in the Square Shopping Centre on Saturday, September 30. Trafford Council staff, landscape architect specialists Planit IE, and transport consultants Civic Engineers, were on hand to discuss the plans, which focus on improving public spaces, parking and de-cluttering of streets to create a more pleasant environment and better linkages to Sale’s green spaces and waterways.

The event also included a fun workshop for children to have their say and was run by arts organisation, TwoByTwo Hurrah.

Cllr David Hopps, executive member for strategic planning, said: “The consultation session was an overwhelming success. The venue was packed to capacity with enthusiastic members of the local community keen to share their ideas.

"By Monday morning almost 300 responses had been received. The project team will review all the feedback over the coming weeks. It’s still not too late to tell us what you think, and I would encourage residents who couldn’t come along on Saturday to complete our online survey.”

The survey, along with more information on the plans, is available at: http://www.investintrafford.com/TownCentres/Sale-Town-Centre-Consultation.aspx

Residents who have not yet had their say on the Council’s proposals for Sale Town Centre can do so by completing the online questionnaire by Monday, October 16.
