TRAFFORD Council has commissioned a study to look at improvements across Sale Town Centre - and it wants to hear people's views about the plans.

The scheme will focus on public spaces and the environment, gateways and arrival points, parking and signage, de-cluttering of streets to create a more pleasant environment and linkages to Sale’s green spaces and waterways.

Landscape architect specialists Planit IE and transport consultants Civic Engineers are carrying out the study and the council wants to hear the views of residents and businesses on the initial findings.

A consultation event will be held on Saturday, September 30 from 10am to 3pm in the Square Shopping Centre, opposite RBS. The event will also include a fun workshop for children and young people to get their views on Sale Town Centre run by community arts organisation, TwoByTwo Hurrah.

Councillor David Hopps, executive member for strategic planning, said: “The council is committed to the growth and sustainability of our town centres and this study will focus on practical measures to improve Sale for the benefit of all town centre users.

"Planit IE and civic engineers have a wealth of experience in preparing similar studies and will bring their expertise to Sale."
