STRETFORD Mall is hosting a month of free summer nature detective-themed fun.

From 11am to 4pm every Thursday throughout August, the centre will have series of ‘Little Nature Detective’ clubs taking place, with everything from exploring and investigating bugs in the centre’s own giant sandpit to finding out how to grow cress ‘hair’.

The activity is free for children aged three and above, with plenty to get involved with.

Sewing took centre stage on August 3, when youngsters were able to create their own buzzy bee sock puppets to take away. They then saw nature stories performed, with special shows running throughout the day.

For those children that love to dig and get their hands dirty, August 10is perfect for them. They’ll be able to discover fossilized bugs and then let their imaginations run wild and create their own species of creepy crawlies using playdoh that they can take home with them.

Children get to discover how to grow crazy cress ‘hair’ on August 17, and they’ll be able to make their very own personalised plant pot – complete with selfie – and they can take away seeds and soil so they can get growing at home.

Last but by no means least, on August 24, youngsters can join Lucy Ladybird as she leads a day featuring ant farm antics, creepy crawly games and crazy crafting activity.

The Little Nature Detective club will take place every Thursday in August. Running from 11am to 4pm. They’ll have a different theme each week and all of the activity is completely free for children to take part in.
