IT is absolutely staggering that according to the latest blurb emanating from the Trafford Leisure team we are supposed to get excited about the Urmston Leisure Centre potentially being re-wired, we are also supposedly going to see expansion of facilities within a building that already completely fills the available space, yet is too small for its current usage, let alone when dozens of new people move in there from the much-bigger George Carnall Leisure Centre, and, apparently, they are going to significantly increase the size of the car park even though it currently uses all of the potential land there is for car parking.

Why do I keep hearing my mind mentioning quarts and pint pots?

Can we please quickly get to a point at which the council admit it is going to say anything to placate the people who use the George Carnall centre, and then, when the damage is done and that centre is closed, we will find that the promises made, regarding the Urmston Centre, were as hollow and empty as Jeremy Corbyn’s promise to pay-off all student debt.

We are currently in a situation in which it is becoming increasingly obvious that, they speak, but nobody can believe a word they say. What they are saying simply does not add up.

How can you expand facilities in a building far too small for a worthwhile expansion of services?

As there is no more room to significantly expand the car park at Urmston, what will happen when the 15-20 cars normally at George Carnall, at any one time, turn up to find there is no room at Urmston?

Those people will just stop going!
