DR Simon Latham has been selected to stand as the Liberal Democrat candidate at the Broadheath by-election on May 4.

People will cast their votes in the election for the Greater Manchester mayor on the same day.

Simon, lives in Sale with his wife and three children. He works as a practising GP in Altrincham.

He says his work provides him with a knowledge of the daily challenges the people of Broadheath face as many of his patients are Broadheath residents.

A spokesperson for the Trafford Liberal Democrats said: "We are very pleased to have Simon as our candidate as new face for the Liberal Democrats in Broadheath. Like many more of our new and talented new members, Simon joined party after the EU referendum.".

Also standing are: Mike Bayley-Sanderson, UK Independence Party; Stephen John Farndon, Independent; Dave Morgan, Conservative; Joe Ryan, Green Party; Amy Marie Whyte, Labour.
