A BIG brother from Sale has bagged a national Super Sibling award

Adam Corry-Wilson, aged six, from Sale, Greater Manchester has won the Center Parcs Super Sibling award, part of baby charity Tommy’s national awards.

Nominated by his mum Rachel Corry, 42, and an occupational psychologist, the Tommy’s Center Parcs Super Sibling Award celebrates a big brother or sister who has proven wise beyond their years after the early arrival or their new baby brother or sister.

When Adam was almost three years old his twin brothers were lost to a late miscarriage at just under 23 weeks. Mum Rachel says, “Adam was the only thing to thing that kept us going during this time."

Two years later, when Adam was almost five years old and about to start school, his brother Hugo was born at 24 weeks and 6 days and needed to stay in hospital for seven months and have two operations.

When Hugo eventually left hospital, Adam started teaching him. His face lights up whenever he sees him.

Rachel says, “Adam has been the best big brother we could have hoped for. Throughout Hugo's time in hospital Adam never complained about feeling left out. At Christmas, he literally ran into Hugo's hospital room to play Santa and help him open his presents. Adam's love for Hugo is infectious - he's often telling people all about his little brother. He has made the past 15 difficult months so much easier than it could have been - Adam is our star just as much as Hugo is.”
