RONALD McDonald House Manchester held its seventh annual charity gala dinner at Emirates Old Trafford recently and raised £150,000.

This will go towards the yearly running costs of more than £800,000 to provide free ‘home away from home’ accommodation to families with a child in the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and St Mary’s Neonatal Unit.

The gala dinner took place in The Point and there were some fantastic acts on including fire breathers, aerial artists, dancers and a fabulous band to keep guests entertained.

More than 600 people were in attendance including Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher plus directors and owners from companies such as McCain and McDonalds who also donated raffle prizes on the evening. Speakers on the night were from families who shared some moving stories of how the charity had helped them and how grateful they were to Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Independent Charity that runs the facility in Manchester, and its volunteers and partners.

Head of venue sales, Angela Hodson said, “It was fantastic to have such a wonderful event here at Emirates Old Trafford and for such a worthy cause. The event went really well and we hope to welcome them back to Emirates Old Trafford in the near future.”
