The SOLACE summit 2017 is taking place at Emirates Old Trafford later this year.

The event, from November 1 to 3,will see more than 300 chief executives and senior managers attending a two-day conference.

Solace (Society of Local Authority Chief Executives) is the representative body for Chief Executives and Senior Managers working in the public sector in the UK and is committed to promoting public sector excellence providing their members with opportunities for professional development.

They seek to influence debate around the future of public services to ensure that policy and legislation are informed by the experience and expertise of their members.

Graeme McDonald, group director of Solace, commented: “Solace are delighted to bring their flagship annual summit to the North West in November 2017. Emirates Old Trafford provides the perfect venue for senior staff from UK local government, offering a great location, and a modern and light environment.

"Having held a very successful event in the Newcastle/Gateshead this year, we are particularly pleased to bring the event to the North West as this remains the centre of the Government’s Northern Powerhouse plans, seen as many as the flagship of the devolution revolution”

Trafford Council’s chief executive, Theresa Grant, said: “I look forward to welcoming and attending the SOLACE Summit in 2017. It is great news that this prestigious event has chosen a venue that is literally on the doorstep of Trafford Council and one which we have a long and successful partnership with.

"The summit is an opportunity to highlight all that is happening in Trafford and Greater Manchester and our part in the Northern Powerhouse.”
