HOTEL company Travelodge received a whopping 250 job applications for the 16 positions at its new Sale hotel.

All vacancies for the Cross Street hotel - which opens tomorrow - have now been filled by local residents.

The 67-room Sale Travelodge is being managed by Briony Donnelly, who has been searching for Trafford residents to help create a team of colleagues - covering roles such as: assistant hotel manager, receptionist, Bar Café team members, a housekeeper and guest room cleaners.

Born and raised in Sale, Briony has been working in the hotel industry for over 14 years.

Briony said: “I am absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to manage a brand new hotel in the heart of Sale. The area is very close to my heart.

"We are currently working around the clock to get the hotel ready and I am very excited to be working with my new team, who are currently being trained across our 18 Manchester Travelodge hotels.

"We had 250 people apply for the 16 positions, which is an astronomical amount of applications.

"I was looking for applicants who are as passionate as us about helping people and delivering great customer service. I worked with the local Job Centre to help fill the positions and some of my team members were previously long term unemployed.” "At Travelodge, we are passionate about developing our team members and we have hundreds of people who have joined the company from an entry level job and are now in a management and executive role.”

The new Sale Travelodge has been designed in Travelodge’s new contemporary brand design which has been created by business and leisure customers.
