THREE musicians from Small is Beautiful will guide their audience musically through lakes and fjords in Sounds of Scandinavia at their next concert at The Avenue Methodist Church, Sale on Sunday, October 2 at 3 pm.
Pianist Lulu Yang and Violinist Vivien Chasey will perform J P E Hartmann’s Sonata No 3 for violin and piano, Svendsen’s Romance for violin and piano and Grieg’s Sonata in C Minor for violin and piano.
Grieg’s Wedding Day at Troldhaugen will feature Lulu on the piano.
Lulu will come into her own again with the lovely Sinding’s Rustle of Spring for piano.
In the first half, the rich, baritone voice of Ian Gifford will perform the songs of Svendsen and Sinding, and songs of Sibelius and Grieg Admission will be £10, adults, £8, concessions and £2, under 19s payable at the door.
