MARIE Curie Nurses in the Stretford and Urmston area want to thank everyone involved in making the 2016 Great Daffodil Appeal a great success.

The month-long appeal, which launched on March 1, saw volunteers out in force across the country, to encourage people to make a donation and wear the charity’s daffodil pin to help support people living with a terminal illness and their loved ones.

Funds raised from the Great Daffodil Appeal help Marie Curie Nurses to continue giving care and support to people living with a terminal illness in their own homes.

Lynn Partridge, community fundraiser, said: “The Great Daffodil Appeal is Marie Curie’s biggest annual fundraiser and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone in the Stretford and Urmston area for getting behind the daffodil, by donating or by being one of our amazing volunteers.

"By supporting the appeal and funding Marie Curie Nursing Hours, you’re bringing care and support to people living with a terminal illness, as well as peace of mind and a chance to rest for their families.”
