AN upcoming martial arts team has fought off competition from around the world to bring a string of championship belts home to Sale West.
Fighters from Northern Spirit Muay Thai Interclub, who train at Sale West Youth Centre, competed in the WTKA Junior Intercontinental Championships 2016 in Sheffield on Saturday April 23.
The club, which trains under by five times world champion Lisa Howarth, was represented by 12 fighters, with seven of the 12 children clinching a title.
Eight-year-old Kamron Finni, who attends Bollin Primary School in Bowdon, was crowned winner in his category and took home an intercontinental champion belt.
Kamron, who is also a UKMF champion, said: βIt was hard work but well worth putting all of the extra training in for.β
Other winners from Northern Spirit on the day were Scarlet Nolan, Halle Morris, Tilly McLean, Darious Palma, Frankie Lythgoe, and Breanne Collymore.
