PUPILS from Acre Hall Primary School are to have a starring role in the opening of the new-look Co-op food store in Woodsend Road, Urmston, on Friday, February 12.
The children will be guests of honour and help store staff to cut the ribbon and declare the new-look Co-op open for the community following its £328,000 major makeover.
The new-look store will increase its opening hours to 6am-11pm daily. It will have an enhanced in-store bakery, hot food, and a Costa coffee dispenser.
The store will also launch its Community Pioneer role where a member of the food store team, Carolyn Bird, will also work to foster involvement in community activities – from local fundraising initiatives to helping to understand and develop solutions to meet community needs. This will include support for the British Red Cross, the Co-op’s new charity partnership.
Helen Finn, manager of the Urmston store, said: “It is a fantastic way to start the year. With a £328,000 investment to transform the store for the community it really is an exciting time for the whole team.
“The Co-op is investing to transform its stores and deliver consistently great shopping experiences for customers, this sits alongside great new product development and fresh new ranges - we really are looking forward to welcoming customers into their new-look local Co-op.”
