GREATER Manchester Police is looking for trained police officers to join the Force in the start of the first major recruitment drive for five years.

The Force is looking for applications from existing officers to join at an exciting time with new opportunities as GMP is reshaping the face of policing in Greater Manchester.

Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for trained constables to come and join us working in a vibrant and exciting area. This is a great time for new officers to help us to transform policing to ensure we provide an excellent service for the people of Greater Manchester.

"As part of that we need some specific skills and fresh thinking to tackle the changing nature of crime but also to make sure we are reflective of our communities.

“This is just the first part of a major recruitment drive which will allow us to maintain the current number of officers and is a chance for people to join us to make a difference to communities in Greater Manchester.”

GMP is looking for existing officers particularly those with specialist skills including as detectives, in firearms and with languages. In the coming months further recruitment will take place and more details will be given as they become available.

Anyone who has completed their two year probationary period and is interested in applying can contact recruitmentservices@gmp.police.uk for more information about the roles and the selection process.

Full details will be available on the GMP website.
