FORMER Altrincham DJ, Ray Teret, is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in a planned attack, alongisde Jimmy Savile.

The trial of the former Radio Caroline DJ, 72, of Woodlands Road, began at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court on Tuesday. (October 7)

She was initially very pleased to see the disgraced TV and radio personality, who was very famous at the time, but he attacker her almost immediately, the court heard.

Mr Evans told the court that Teret had a "deal of celebrity" in the 60s and 70s, especially in the Manchester area.

"The crown's case in a nutshell is that he used the celebrity that he had to abuse young girls in various ways and that the other two defendants – Mr Ledger and Mr Harper – friends and associates of Teret, also became involved on occasions," said Mr Evans.

Teret , Ledger and Harper deny all the charges against them.

Teret is charged with 18 rapes, in addition to other offences.
