THE landlord of an Urmston pub is to climb Kilimanjaro in aid of the Christie Hospital.
Ian Slamon, landlord of the Lord Nelson, is taking on the challenge in conjunction with the pub's brewery, Joseph Holt.
"Joseph Holts have had a long association with the Christie, setting up the Holt Radium institute 100 years ago this year," said Ian.
"The brewery is aiming to raise £300,000 and as our part we have committed to raise £20,000 of that total."
A team from the Nelson has already completed the national Three Peaks challenge and this year they are aiming to every single of Holts 124 pubs during August.
Ian and his wife Julie completed the Greater Manchester swim on July 19 and a larger team will be doing the longest/fastest zip-wire in Europe in October.
The Nelson team hope to reach their £200,000 target by Christmas, to find out how you can sponsor them call Ian on 07725 332 585 or email ianslamon@mac.com.
