A STRETFORD member of a notorious Manchester gang has been jailed for three-and-a-half years.
Kevin Boyle, 19, of Stuart Road admitted to charges of robbery and attempted robbery at Minshull Street Crown Court.
Members of the gang Kevin was a part of lined up two young relatives to appear in a bragging video about their activites under the banner "Thugz To Come."
Police uncovered the footage as they caught the gang, named the Levenshulme Man Dem Soldiers, who terrorised Manchester residents.
The images recorded against a rap music soundrack were accompanied by pictures of the gang wielding guns and sticking two fingers up at the camera accompanied by anti-police slogans.
A special team was set up to target the violent carjacking and robbery gang suspected of stealing cash from businesses and high-powered vehicles from homes.
The year long investigation into the gang was said to be "extensive" and identified at least 45 armed robberies that the gang had perpetrated throughout central and south east areas of the city.
On April 7 seven members of the gang started jail terms totalling 38 years after being convicted of robbery. Two others will be sentenced later.
After the case Detective Inspector Derrick Spencer from Stockport's Volume Crime Team said: "This group of men were determined criminals, intent on using violence and extreme threats to get what they wanted from their victims.
"The incidents were often terrifying, and have had huge impact on the victims emotionally as well as financially. The sheer scale of violence and threats used has left some of them scarred for life."
The gang recorded the boasting video giving themselvs nicknames like Jinge, Monkey Bullet and Tony and sporting their hoodies in Pulp Fiction-style poses.
Mr Mark Monaghan prosecuting told the court how the armed robberies occurred between March and September of 2007.
He said: "In some of the cases there was a motor vehicle stolen for the occasion and false identities were used in order to assist those involved in the robberies."
The gang were arrested in dawn raids on houses in Longsight, Levenshulme and Gorton in September 2007.
Liam Domville, 18, of St Oswald Road, Manchester was jailed for seven-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to robbery and attempted robbery.
