At the next meeting of Timperley Civic Society on Tuesday April 1st there will be a talk given by Mark Wilkinson entitled "Competitions and Flowers".
Mark is one of a group of people who, a few years ago, were responsible for recovering an eyesore of cracked up tarmac and creating from it what is now known as Quarry Bank Gardens. These crofts were a sight for sore eyes
Now these Crofts or should we say "Gardens" are not a sight for sore eyes anymore, but a transformation, particularly in early summer and are a clear indication of what can be achieved with a little determination and a lot of hard work.
Quarry Bank Gardens won an award in the "North West in Bloom" competition last year and they can be seen on Marsland Road at the rear of the Quarry Bank pub - well worth a visit. One of many involved with "Atrincham in Bloom"
The meeting, which starts at 7:30pm in the Village Hall on Stockport Road, is free to members of the Civic Society and visitors can attend for the nominal fee of 50 pence.
