TRAFFORD Council is supporting the launch of Trafford Partnership’s ‘Be Bold … Be the Difference’ community campaign, encouraging residents across the borough to get active and help make a difference in their area.

This campaign builds on the environmental work and focus achieved through the ‘Be Responsible’ environmental campaign.

‘Be Bold’ is helping build on this groundswell of effort. It recognises the difference local people make and offers support to people wanting to get more involved. It could be setting up a Homewatch scheme, organising clean-ups in their area, volunteering in the local community, joining a sports club and meeting new people or just getting to know a neighbour who may need help.

Executive councillor for communities and partnerships, John Lamb, said: “Trafford Council is committed to working with people to help maintain and improve the local areas, and provide opportunities for people to play an active role in their community.

"‘Be Bold’ will help focus attention on ways more individuals and community groups can get involved by supporting each other, working together and with the council.

"I’m hoping people will be inspired by what is happening around them and take a few minutes to think how they could ‘Be Bold’ and become an active citizen who is making a real difference for their local area.”
