BUDDING artists in are being given the chance to win a £500 art hamper and to have their work displayed in the UK’s leading arts and crafts superstore.

Hobbycraft at Altrincham Retail Park, Broadheath, has launched an art competition to help support creative talents aged 16 and over.

Customers will then be given the chance to vote for their favourites with the winner from each store going forward to the national competition.

To enter, budding artists must submit their own work using a creative medium of their choice, whether that is drawing, painting, sketching or sculpting.

The designs must be submitted in store no later than October 2 and then members of the public will vote for their favourite work until October 11.

Store manager, Maria Barlow, said: “We understand how difficult it can be for creative people to showcase their talents. We wanted to offer the chance to support budding local artists and also inspire more people to take up art.”
