THE Lib Dem councillor for Timperley ward, Jane Brophy, has given her backing to Tim Farron’s campaign to become the next Leader of the Liberal Democrats.
Cllr Brophy, Altrincham and Sale West’s Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate, said: "“I have worked closely with Tim Farron for many years now. Tim is a proven campaigner and outstanding communicator.
"He is the distinctive, liberal voice that our party needs and this is why I am supporting him to be our next leader.
"I am urging people in Trafford to do the same.”
Tim Farron was re-elected at the recent general election for a third straight term as MP for the Cumbria constituency of Westmorland and Lonsdale.
