HEALTHWATCH Trafford has launched its report into access to health services for deaf people in Trafford.
The report, 'Getting it right for Deaf people in Trafford', highlights the experiences of deaf people of using GPs, hospitals and other health services, highlighting the many barriers they face.
Healthwatch Trafford worked with the Trafford Deaf Partnership, Genie Networks and Trafford Deaf Community Network to gather patient experiences in focus groups and interviews, as well surveying interpreters and requesting information from GPs and hospitals.
The report makes a number of recommendations which Healthwatch Trafford will take to the health services and commissioners to press for service improvement that benefit the deaf community.
A full copy of the report can be found found in the news section of our website: www.healthwatchtrafford.co.uk
