COUNCIL chiefs are asking residents to help improve the quality of compost produced from waste by only placing food and garden waste in their green bins.
This will help minimise the risk of food and garden waste being rejected at the Trafford Park composting facility and ultimately help improve the compost quality.
Liquids such as milk, juice or cooking oil should never be put into the green bin.
Plastic bags or black bin bags should never be used to dispose of food waste in the green bins. Replacement compostable liners are provided free of charge by the council and can be ordered by either tying one of your last liners to the handle of the green bin or online at www.trafford.gov.uk/recycling.
