THE Greater Manchester Colleges Group (GMCG) is launching a competition on March 2 to help 10 lucky young people achieve their ‘dream job’.

The competition, which is being funded by City Deals funding from New Economy, brings together 10 colleges across the Greater Manchester region in a project that aims to raise the profile of apprenticeships.

The GMCG will support 10 students, one from each of the Greater Manchester areas, to achieve their dream job as an apprentice in their chosen field, with an additional financial incentive of £250 to be given to each winner to put towards costs associated with the job, such as travel, clothing or equipment.

Applicants to the Dream Job competition must be from the Greater Manchester region, aged 15 or over, and have completed their year 11 studies by August. The winners will be announced and presented with an award at the Skills for Business Awards on July 1.
