TRADITION dictated that the official ale taster of Altrincham Court Leet Alderman Michael Owen visited the newly refurbished Rope and Anchor pub in Dunham Massey.
Alderman Owen, whose title dates back to 1482, sampled one of their fine ales, which he declared good and wholesome and fit for the bodies of men and women in and around the environs of Altrincham.
After a civilised tasting interlude, a certificate was then presented to the pub declaring the above approval.
