HALE businesses are joining forces with prep schools in the area by holding an art competition over the Easter period.

Several schools have submitted over 200 pieces of artwork in various media covering subjects such as My favourite Animal in an Easter Hat, Spring in my Step, April Showers & Where I live - Hale.

"We are delighted with the reaction from the schools which have wholeheartedly embraced the project," said Debbie Gresty of Sealpoint in Hale.

"We are very excited to be holding this competition as we aim to unite businesses in the village and reach out to our community. Hopefully this will be the first of many such events."

The winning entries from each age group will be framed and all the artwork will be displayed in windows throughout the village from April 14, incorporating Park Road, Ashley Road, Victoria Road and Broomfield Lane.

The event culminates on Easter Saturday with several businesses hosting children's activities.
