Talented footballer Halton McCollin lost his fight for life on Tuesday after a shooting in Stretford on Saturday.

all people need to do is read other comments to see what kind of person you were. it is wrong that people are going round just shooting people who are doing the best they can in life. just walking past the site every day and seeing all that has been left shows how many people you touched in your life. your family should be very proud.
in a note to the family, i hope youont mind but if the newspaper is right about the organ donation i personally think even through your most heartbreaking tragdey you have thought of others. for that there will be some very grateful people and you are incredibly brave.
though no words can ease your pain, may you find some comfort in knowing how many people loved halton.

Can't believe this story. What a sad and tragic end to a life that boasted an incredible future. My heart goes out to the family and friends of this young man, I hope you can find some peace knowing that Halton is with God, who is looking after him and keeping him safe until you meet him again.

I never knew you Halton, but have been touched by the tributes left for you both at the scene where this senseless crime happened and by what has been written about you. You were obviously a very talented and lovable young man, and it sounds as though you touched a lot of peoples lives and made your family very proud.
I can only imagine what your family and friends are going through - I've been there and it's not nice. Unfortunately we are now living in a society where gun crime is an everyday occurrence, and I know that this heartbreaking tragedy won't be the last - but hopefully not in vain. I pray that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

Halton was a close friend of mine in the younger days back in Broad Oak primary school he used to make me smile every day and the thought of him not living his life is a crime all in its self, i sincerely hope justice is done on his part. And my prairs go out to his family at such a sad time.
